Dust off the cake pans!

Renewing of vows/baptism for a couple we go to church with.

4th of July American flag. I tried some new icing called White Mountain. It was slippery.
I really enjoy baking. Mostly because I like to eat fresh baked items. Also decorating cakes somehow relaxes me. It has been since Karis' first birthday since I did a "real" cake. Real, as in I took pictures and displayed it for people to see. I did make a cake for her second birthday, but it was ugly on the outside so I never posted pics. My excuse was that her sister was born the day after her birthday. Maybe one day I'll have a bakery. Perhaps with one of my BFFs. A girl can dream, right?

8 months old

Lydia is already 8 months old. She claps when she hears music and she gets super excited when I pull out the cheerio box to give her some. She enjoys being with Karis and puts out her arms to try and reach her. She is rather talented at pulling hair. Most days she still takes two naps. Night time sleep has been worse the last week. She has been waking up a couple times hungry. We have given her a lot more food, but must be going through a growth spurt. I can't feel any new teeth, but I'm sure they bother her some too.
The whole family is celebrating Karis today! She has gone a whole week without a paci! It is nothing short of a miracle. It just kinda happened one night because I couldn't find her one and only paci left that she hadn't chewed up. Just to she what would happen I told her if we couldn't find it after looking around the house she would have to sleep without it and we could look for it again in the morning. She said ok and went to sleep. I figured there was no use in going back. Plus we never found the missing one and only paci. I would have never imagined it being so easy.
Daddy has been away working most days the past week and a half. We were able to join a little. I will try and post more about ministry a little later in the week.
