Brazil for 2 weeks!

We leave Friday morning for Santarem Brazil in the Amazon rain forest. Our team will be living on a river boat that will travel down the river stopping at the villages to share the Gospel.
The team is:

UNC students: Melanie Lark, Josh, Doug, Amanda, Taylor
FBC members: Flynn, John, Steven and I

When the team leaves on Saturday (3/14) to come back home Steven and I will fly to Fortaleza, our city. Fortaleza is the city we will be serving in with the IMB as career missionaries. This will be our first time to the city. We will meet a couple that will be our co-workers and stay with them. They will introduce us to the national pastors and give us a tour of the city.

After our time there we'll fly to Altanta (direct flight!) on Wednesday for Steven's best friend's wedding. We'll be there early to help with the details.

We will do our best to update the blog while we are away. Please pray:

1. Safety and health of our team
2. Pray for the missionaries we'll be working with: Caldwell's and Dillard's
3. Ask God to provide us many opportunities to share the Gospel, and that He would bring people to Himself. That they might trust in Christ for the first time.
4. Pray that Bible studies and churches would be started
5. That Steven would be able to preach the Word clearly and slowly (translation)
6. Steven and I would have a peace about visiting Fortaleza for the first time and that we would work well with our co-workers already there.
7. Covenant marriage between Brien (Steven's friend) and his soon to be wife, Hannah.
